Hello and welcome to my online portfolio. I’m Susan Grossman, and this website is dedicated to my work as a scenic artist. Here you’ll find my portfolio, resume, a description of my formal training at Penn State University, a list of references and my contact information. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please send me an email.

A little about myself: I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Penn., in May 2003. Throughout that time, I worked at various professional theatres, including Surflight Theatre (Long Beach Island, NJ), The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (Centre Valley, PA), and The New Jersey Shakespeare Festival (Madison, NJ).

After graduating from Penn State I decided to continue my training and became the scenic art apprentice at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a highly respected theatre. I also did side projects for The Opera Company of Philadelphia and TLC (The Learning Channel).

After my year at the Walnut, I accepted a position at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida, a premier arts magnet high school, where I have been the resident Scenic Charge Artist and Props Master for the past six years.
My job entails both teaching (Art History, Drawing/Rendering for the Theatre and Scenic Art) as well as helping to execute successful productions.

That said, though my full-time needs are met, I’m always looking and willing to do part time, summer or temporary work in the scenic art field. If you’re looking for a diligent and talented scenic artist, please take a look at my portfolio to get an idea of what I can offer your theatre. If you like what you see or have any questions or want more information, feel free to contact me at susan@susangrossman.org or 856-912-7689.

I look forward to hearing from you.
